NARS pure radiant tinted moisturiser

I'm sure you'd all agree that nobody wants their makeup to feel like a sweaty, oily mess particularly during the warmer seasons. For this reason I'd been on the hunt for a good quality face base that is no fuss and light weight. A few hundred blog posts and YouTube videos later, I decided to purchase the NARS pure radiant tinted moisturiser and I have not looked back!

Prior to purchasing this, I got a sample from my local Mecca Maxima that surprisingly lasted me 6-7 uses, so I know for sure that the full sized tube will last me for a long time! My shade is in St Moritz (medium 1) and it is an absolutely perfect match to my skin tone.

I know this is going to be a summer staple, as it is light weight but has decent coverage (so you could get away with no concealer) and most importantly it has SPF 30, which is very generous! With a bit of powder over the top it doesn't anger my combination/acne prone skin and oiliness isn't a big issue. I find the best way to apply this is to blend it in with my fingers, and do some extra buffing with my Sigma angled kabuki brush (F84).

This is the first NARS product I've ever purchased so this is quite exciting for me! The only downside is the $56 price tag on this baby, which may not be worth it for some people. However it is important to consider that finding a good face base that suits your skin type is crucial to any makeup routine. What are your thoughts?

Lipstick lovin' - 2014

My love for lip products, specifically lipsticks, began only 1-2 years ago so I wanted to share some of my favourites with you. Even though we still have two months left of this year, I think these lipsticks are easily my top picks for 2014!

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: NYX soft matte lip cream (Monte Carlo), Mac (heroine), Mac (Taupe), and Body shop lipstick (berry me)

The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick in: Berry Me (shade 340)
My friend gifted this lipstick to me for my birthday and I have been using it non-stop ever since! The dark burgundy colour is perfect for those days you want to look a bit vampy and adds that extra edge to your whole look (for some reason, the picture below looks more pink than it actually is).

In terms of texture, it's very moisturising and glides on like a lip balm. It's one of those products that can easily be applied on the go, maybe even without a mirror (unless you're uncoordinated like me).

Staying power is pretty good. What I particularly like is that it has a certain grace to fading throughout the day, as it leaves a pretty lip stain effect rather than looking patchy.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in: Monte Carlo

Whenever I'm in the mood for a classic red lip, this is my go to product! It is very affordable and the smell reminds me of cakes, icing, and just sugary goodness in general!

I love that it dries completely matte, with very little transfer. However I do find that it needs to be reapplied after eating, which is the case with most lip products anyway. Also, be sure to moisturise your lips beforehand otherwise it can feel quite drying after a few hours.

Overall I enjoy how lightweight this feels on my lips; the fact that I'm not constantly aware that I'm wearing lipstick really makes this product stand out to me.

Mac lipstick in: Taupe

The hefty price tag on mac products always forces me to think over and over and over about whether I'll really get my money's worth. After evaluating this particular shade a zillion times... I decided I would purchase it and I'm really glad I did!
Taupe is the perfect nude for my skin tone! It evens out my natural lip colour and gives it the 'your lips but better' look. Plus, It's a great shade for everyday wear since it looks very natural.

Mac lipstick in: Heroine

I can't stress enough how beautiful this colour is! If you're like me and you want a bold colour that's slightly different but not too out of the box, then this is for you.
This gorgeous shade of purple has blue undertones that suits practically every skin tone! I know I'll be getting tonnes of wear out of this over the holidays.

Falling for minimalism

After graduating University, I've taken a few months off to simply relax and give myself a long holiday before starting my Masters next year. Being the huge internet junkie that I am, I've spent countless hours surfing the web for inspiration/motivation to improve numerous things in my life. Redecorating my room and being more organised have been on the top of this list.

Having a diary/planner/agenda in order to be organised makes sense to me...you need some sort of system to plan your activities and meet deadlines, especially if you're in school!

So one fateful day I stumbled across Beck Wadworth's blog and online shop, 'An Organised Life', and I was hooked instantly! I never thought it was possible to be this obsessed with a diary, but in this particular instance I was proven wrong. I purchased the 2015 limited edition diary and I'm in LOVE . You honestly can't go wrong with the classic colour scheme and layout. It's simple, chic, and has just enough room to fit everything!

Yes, she individually wraps each diary and sends a handwritten thank you note! :)

Love the bold prints separating each month.

A special day

Hello beautiful people, welcome to my very first blog post!

I thought I’d start this blog by sharing my most recent milestone that is very, very special to me- my graduation day :)

4 years ago, if you had told me that I would be graduating from my dream University with a gpa that is good enough to study masters in the top University of my state… I would have laughed hysterically or broken down crying.
Either way, I wouldn’t have believed you.

It has been a long road to get to where I am now; battling low self-esteem and confidence issues was not at all easy. However I gained the strength to surpass all the negativity and prove to myself that- NO MATTER what your past is, with patience, hard work, positivity and of course God’s blessings…anything can be achieved!

So remember- if you have a dream, never give up on it because there is always a way.
